John Ingrassia secured a full acquittal on March 31, 2014 in Orange County Court after a three day felony trial.

Mr. Ingrassia's client was charged by Indictment with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a violent felony and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.

The charges arose after police executed a search warrant in his client's home and recovered a loaded semi-auto handgun as well as a large capacity ammunition feeding device.

Mr. Ingrassia's cross examination of police officers and police detectives exposed deficiencies in the prosecution's presentation of evidence and the police's collection and processing of evidence to establish that his client knowingly possessed the weapons.

Had his client been convicted of the Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree he faced a minimum sentence of 3.5 years and maximum of 15 years in State Prison.
